Just to make this clear, the dream is an old one, dated November 13, 1996. I usually backdate old dreams, so they appear in chronological order, but felt like placing this one on the front page. Maybe it would be more in context in its proper position. At the time I dreamed about Hanging Crow, I was headed into the worst of my depression, and my father would still be alive for another year and a half. It is interesting that you ask the obvious question, “Who are the other 2 medicine people?” I never wondered about this, oddly enough.

I like this dream. I see your sadness, judging by the comments you make. In one respect, the symbol of the dog being loyalty, you may be thinking of your father and the gift of power that the crow represents; you are showing him your loyalty, and fortifying him with the power he needs to move on to the next world. Lots more, maybe appreciation? Love? On another level, the hook may represent that you’ve detached from your own power, perhaps through your grieving.

I like the dog, he’s trying to demonstrate to Your Higher Self that you are willing to continue on your artist’s path. Whatever happens, you are loyal to Your Higher Self, and shall continue to create and express your gifts, despite your losses. There may be a momentary halt in your output, but not for long, in the context of the real world. Who are the first two medicine people? A Trinity?

The Temple: This strikes me like the history of humanity. We began distrusting one another, and moved on toward our personal transformation with spirit at the core of our goals–learning, progressing, continuing with blind faith, we could not help but meet face to face. The outcome is peace–in the future? now? yesterday? This is a beautiful dream–very much like the journey you are on now. Moving forward regardless of obstacles; moving forward regardless of fear; moving forward in faith.

Wow, this is high stuff. I see your great love for the Divine. As you direct your attention to the object of your love, you recognize the urgency or need to go directly to the source and not waste time or concern yourself with the effort required of you, in the phrase “I would go to the ends of the earth.” The “wonderfu spots” seem to be pointing inward where water has marked out the path for you, water symbolizing the unconscious. These are power spots that will magnify what you have already intuited is at your disposal. It’s as though your guides are directing what you must do, (go inward), and that only you can define the state of being, the consciousness that is required to know your true Self. You let him know you are “looking for that one-in-a-million place,” which he acknowledges that this is your best course of action, “Good.” he says validating your recognition that expediency is called for.

The children are engaging you in playful activity, and their playfulness brings out your wisdom and passion, the romantic music. The little kid doesn’t know what it’s all about, but you do. It is also interesting that you recognize your guides from other visits to this dimension and that you have interacted with them before as their student or charge. Despite the difficulties and challenges you are facing, you are maintaining your balance, you can handle them. and as the brother says, “Oh, Gary, just let go!” Trust and let yourself love and be open to the wonderful possibilities. It’s all there for you. Open your arms and receive your Beloved.

You are wide awake in this dream. It’s wonderful that your father came to visit you, and imparted the benefit of his learning and wisdom. It seems to me he is showing you the preciousness of life, his parents reduced to dust, tiny, and gone beyond his grasp and ability to relate to any longer. To me this dream speaks of your father’s life, whatever he experienced with his family, and the fragility and short duration. A little of your waking mind comes through as seen in the little fear that comes up for you. That’s natural. Your father is saying something very important to you, and it’s nice that you took advantage of the moment to be present with him. I wonder what the hidden treasures are for you?

Now that I’ve finished the Dream Map, I am noticing that I am taking the spiritual dreams more at face value and leaving the psychological aspects out more. They’re all about transformation and facing emptiness. I’d look at your dream of the Gold outfit again and just let in the feelings and duplicate them in the waking world.

Wow, tghis dream is full with vitality, wonderment and amazement. I would take those feelings and duplicate them in my waking life. In particular, the singer, he vibrant, joyous and free; the Golden outfit and its resplendent quality. I also find that any feeling that appears in nature, space, quality of feeling is important in bringing to the light of day and letting nuances and tones of sounds, feelings, etc., guide me in materializing the creative energy into art.

This is a wonderfully wild dream. You’ve got something here. Way to start the New Year!
